At Hope College I tutored at-risk youth and volunteered with Girls on the Run. After college, I taught at outdoor science schools in both North Carolina and California. I taught about how our choices affect our earth. Next I joined WorldTeach and became the first English teacher on Aerok, Maloelap in the Marshall Islands. I was able to teach 2nd-8th graders who had barely heard English before. My next teaching experience was in the Costa Rican rainforest. I taught 3rd and 4th grade in a small town called Monteverde. Monkeys and toucans were daily guests outside my classroom windows. I recently returned to Ann Arbor after teaching 3rd grade at an international school in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I'm currently pursuing my master's degree in elementary education. |
